Everything is both simpler than we can imagine and more entangled than we can conceive. - Goethe

Sunday Circle Reflections November 8, 2020

Our spirit, emotions, and health are complex systems made up of an infinite number of complex subsystems. They are enmeshed, entangled and intertwined. We cannot heal any one aspect of ourselves without gaining an awareness of the collaboration that makes up the whole.

As we learn about how our mind, body and spirit work together, what at first seems like a tangled mess needing unravelling eventually reveals itself to be a system of roots that requires, by and large, to maintain its gnarly connections to thrive.

During today's treatment, this truth was screaming to be understood by me, primarily centred around the connection between the heart and the root chakras.

While I could go deep into the specifics of what I felt during the session, I found that this blog post by Katherine K. Willis, Grief and Rage: The Connection Between 4th and 1st Chakras, beautifully summarizes what was present in the group collective today.

Note: The blog is written primarily for actors, and as such, includes musings on acting technique, but the blog's focus on the mind-body connection translates well.
